but, OHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!, what do you think of tonight's?
I crept home from work past three trees across roads (including one that had fallen on a car), edged through half-a-dozen non-functioning sets of traffic lights, waited out of the way for several emergency service vehicles to get past, peered through squally rain patches and smeary drying-out windscreen to see my way without street lights. I was surprised to find the power still on when I got home.
Better not tempt fate - post, haste, and get the hell outa here! Fingers crossed that my house still has all its gutters tomorrow moning!

Tue, August 30, 2005 - 9:26 PMTell me about it... Glad you made it home alright! I'm SOOOOOOOOO glad you still had power when you got home... while we were sitting here in the dark for 2 1/2 hours! Oh well, we had a pretty good game of triv, but J was grumpy without his coffee! Damn electric everything! We even tried to get the camp stove out! LOL
